About Egirdir: Geography and Climate
Egirdir Lake is the fourth largest in Turkey and is located in the lakes region in a tectonic white chalk calcium dig. The altitude of the lake is 916 m, and the length of the lake is: 48 km; average width varies from 10-11 kms.
Egirdir Lake has innumerable sources and the water is plentiful and drinkable. The average yearly temperature is 13 degrees and average rainfall is 902 mm. The lake receives rain from the Mediterranean. Summer is hot, spring and autumn are reasonably warm, winter is rainy and snowy. August is the hottest month of the year, on average 24 degrees, and January is the coldest at 2 degrees average.
